It was on Tuesday the first of April 1993. I was sitting in a half eaten bowl of porridge, when a brilliant idea came to me. I saw an ad in the human's "Age" about becoming an insect for a week, so I thought if humans can become an insect, then insects might e able to become humans. It was a place called "Switched", it was located on 1098 Insect Drive. I decided I would pay them a visit and find out some more details.
When I got there some 22 minutes later, I flew in an open window, and over to the counter. I found out all the details I needed to know and made an appointment for the next day at 2:00 PM. Instead of going all the way home, I decided I would sleep on a leaf outside :"Switched". At 2:00 PM the next day, I flew under the door and sat on a leaf on a pot-plant in the waiting room.
When the secretary called out W. L. Fly & G. Cooper, I flew up to the counter. If this experiment worked I was going to be a 16 year old boy with long brown hair with black eyes. The person was tall, about 198 cm tall and not very fat.
When I sat in the insect chair, the doctor put all kinds of wires on me and G. Cooper. When he had wired us both up, he told us to hang on, so I did. He gave a count down: 5 ,4,3,2,1, and he pulled the lever. All I could see were blue and white lights flashing everywhere, I didn't know what was going on, but it was fun. When the lights eventually stopped flashing, I looked down at myself. I couldn't believe my eyes, I was actually a human!
I undid all of the wires. I looked in the mirror and wondered what G. Cooper was thinking, probably the same thing I was. I put my human hands into my pockets. I felt something, it was a wallet and some keys. The wallet had $400 plus credit cards. On the key ring there was a registration number, it was GTR 136. When I got into the car park, there were only 6 cars in there, so I didn't have any trouble finding the car. On the back of the windscreen I saw a big L, I knew it meant something but I didn't know what. I needed somewhere to stay, so I drove around looking for a cheap apartment. When I finally found one for $150 per week, I decided that it was pretty late so I settled into my apartment before going to have dinner. I ended up eating at McDonalds. I ordered 4 happy meals and a chocolate sundae. It was a lot better than leftover porridge and spaghetti.
After Mackers, I went for a drive around town. I decided to go to the cinemas. When I got there, all they had on was "Die Hard With a Vengeance" and "The Attack of The Killer Fly". I wanted to watch both, but I only watched "The Attack of the Killer Fly". It was about this fly who landed on this green gunk which they called chemicals, so he turned into a one tonne fly as big as an elephant. It had to eat 85 humans a week, but it went a little over the top and ended up eating 100 for the week. At the end of the movie they couldn't stop it, so they got a bazooka and shot it. It was really gross.
After the movie I went to have a beer at the pub. After a while, I noticed this pretty girl looking at me. I heard this glass smash, and as I turned around, she walked over to me and sat beside me. I couldn't believe my eyes, but I started talking to her. Her name was Tracy. After about an hour, we decided we would go out tomorrow night. When I got home at about 1:00 AM, I went straight to bed. The next day was the third day, only 4 to go. I wanted to tell Tracy that I was not a human but really a fly, but it would break her heart, but I had to. When I picked her up at 7:00 PM, we went to some posh Chinese restaurant. After dinner I told her my story. At first she didn't believe me, but when I could prove it, she ran straight out the door which I expected. I knew becoming a human wasn't such a good idea, so I went back to "Switched" and got turned back into a fly, and now I'm flying around with only a swatter to worry about.
